Collective Strings

COLLECTIVE STRING-WEBS NYC

A project that sculpts city space in a myriad colors of String-Webs
Track your path drawing lines and shapes.

Participants met Sunday May 13 at 3 PM in McCARREN Park where Danish visual artist Karoline H. Larsen and American visual artist Jasmine Zimmerman introduced COLLECTIVE STRING-WEBS NYC.

All participants are divided into 5 groups of 15-20 participants.
Each group is given colors of string to sculpt city space.
Natural elements of the park/city will be used to sculpt city space.

PINK - BEIGE
TURQUOISE - ORANGE
YELLOW - PURPLE
RED - GREEN
GREY - BLUE

When you pull the strings in new directions, the structure gradually changes,?
and you create new space, and new possibilities arise.?
Strings of the 5 groups will become inter-woven in giant collective string web
marking the public space in a new way.
Passers-by and observers are invited to join and carry on.

Flying Lessons

Today on 14th Street and Union Square, NYC members of everyday re+enchantment initiated an intervention to send messages and images to the sky via balloons, string and Polaroids. Twas truelly magical in the gloomy cloudy midst of a chilly February afternoon.
